UNTANGLE AFRICA'S CHAINS, PLAYING MY PART.
In twilight's hush, where shadows play,
Africa's dreams looked like its fading away,
Like whispers lost in endless night,
A continent's heart, seemed to no longer alight.
Memories of greatness told, now but a mere sigh,
Echoes of a glory, seemed to have long gone by,
The whirlwinds of time, they whisper low,
Of what could've been, but never grew.
In forests dark, where ancient secrets abide and sleep,
The trees whisper truths, we'd rather not keep,
Of chains that bound, of souls that bled,
The scars of history, forever fed.
Rivers of tears, that flowed like the Nile,
Like an erosion, washing away the hopes that smiled,
Like a burnt farmland, leaving behind a barren land,
A seemingly entangled people's spirit, lost in the sand.
In cities filled with bustles and hustles, with life and strife,
A cacophony, that drowns the heart's cry,
The noise of progress, a distant hum,
A melancholy, that's never undone.
Oh, Africa's child, with bright eyes so bright,
Why do you weep, through the dark of night?
Is it for the future seen in the past, that's yet to be?
Or of the very past that haunts, like a melody?
In moonlit nights, where stars creep tobappear,
A lonely voice, whispers a lonely prayer,
For the dreams that died, for the Irokos that fell,
And For the silence that, now echoes through it all.
The wind it howls, like a mournful sigh,
As Africa's heart, slowly says goodbye,
To the dreams that, once dared to roam,
Now but a memory, a distant home.
In this twilight, where shadows play,
Africa's dreams, fade away,
Like whispers lost, in endless night,
A continent's heart, no longer alight.
And I, a wanderer, in this land,
Echoes of a fading dream, my heart's command,
My part, My part, My Part,
How do I play?
