THE RICHEST MAN IN BABYLON - A BOOK REVIEW.
The book "The Richest Man in Babylon" authored by George S. Clason is definitely a goldmine of Financial Intelligence. I strongly believe that whoever has the desire to learn finance should read this book as the book offers great lessons (that can be extracted from the beautiful tales and parables therein) on the importance of financial literacy and the benefits of saving and investing.
Author George S. Clason churned out the parables in very simple language and therefore very easy to understand with those that read with their very hearts.
In this old but great book "The Richest Man in Babylon", George S. Clason pinpoints ageless wisdom in a simple but subtle way. The book is written as a series of parables, set in the ancient city of Babylon. Through these stories, Clason imparts lessons on topics such as saving, investing, and managing one's finances. The parables are easy to understand, and they provide valuable insights into how to achieve financial success. While some of the advices may look very simple, they ade nonetheless powerful and effective actions are taken.
One of the parables that stands out for me is "MEET THE GODDESS OF GOODLUCK". I really wish I had read this book or even this particular tale some five years ago. I still remember I embarked on a project but missed out on the profits because I wasn't so swift at grabbing opportunities on their throats. This particular tale thought me how to meet the "goddess of goodluck" , her favorable attention and her generous favors. I got to find out that Goodluck only waits to come to the man who accepts opportunities. To attract goodluck to oneself, it is necessary to take advantage of opportunities. Only men of actions are favored by the Goddess of Goodluck.
I really wish I had read this book five years ago. Nevertheless, moving forward, I will never forget the lessons i got from this great book.
Before I conclude, let me share some excerpts from this old but evergreen book. I personally call them teasers.. I'll share just few of them. To get to discover the rest, dive into the ocean of this great book.
1. A Man's wealth isn't in the purse he carries. A fat purse quickly emptied if there be no golden stream to refill it.
2. You will find the road to wealth when you decide that a part of what you earn is yours to keep.
3. If you are to achieve what you desire, time and study would be required.
4. Wealth, like a tree, grows from a tiny seed.
5. The thoughts of the youths are bright lights that shine forth like meteors that often make brilliant the sky but the wisdom of age is like the fixed stars that shine so unchanged that the sailor may depend upon them to steer his course.
Indeed, Old can be Gold and "The Richest Man in Babylon" by George S. Clason is a totality of that statement.
I highly and strongly recommend this book to Al youths. You don't have to thank me, join me on this train of financial literacy.
There's this book I will read next.. "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. All I want to do this year is know so much about financial literacy.
