UNTANGLE AFRICA'S CHAINS, PLAYING MY PART.
In chains of pain, Africa's heart does ache,
A legacy of sorrow, for our souls to partake,
The weight of history, a burden to bear,
A continent's cry, echoing through the air.
I search for answers, in the dark of night,
For the keys to unlock, the shackles that bind tight,
The chains of oppression, that strangle and choke,
A people's spirit, longing to be unspoke.
In every link, a story's told,
Of struggle and strife, of young lives grown old,
The tears of the past, they still remain,
A reminder of the pain, that refuses to wane.
But still I hold, on to hope's thin thread,
A glimmer of light, in the dark ahead,
A chance to make, a difference small,
To play my part, in untangling it all.
Through every step, a path is made,
A journey of justice, for the hearts that have bled,
The chains of silence, they start to break,
As voices rise, and the truth starts to shake.
In every word, a spark is lit,
A fire of freedom, that will not quit,
The flames of courage, they start to rise,
As we unite, to open Africa's eyes.
But the task is long, the road is hard,
The chains of history, they run deep and scar,
Yet still I'll work, through every test,
To play my part, in finding Africa's best.
For in every heart, a dream is born,
A vision of freedom, where love will adorn,
The chains of fear, they start to fall,
As we rise up, to stand tall.
Through every act, a difference made,
A step closer, to the freedom we've prayed,
The chains of oppression, they start to break,
As we unite, for Africa's sake.
And when the chains, are finally undone,
And Africa's heart, is free to run,
I'll know I played, my part in the fight,
To untangle the chains, and bring forth the light.
